Privacy Policy
Cub & Compass is the family parenting brand of Dendro Logic Ltd (company number 16982433, registered office 3 Greville Road, Alcester, B49 5QN), and Dendro Logic Ltd is the data controller for anything you share with us here. This page explains, in plain English, what we collect, why, and what your rights are. It is written to comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect, and why
- When you message us through the contact form: your name, email address and message. We use these to reply to you. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in answering the people who write to us.
- When you join our letters (the newsletter): your email address. We use it to send you the occasional letter from our kitchen table. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
- When you buy from our shop: your name, email address, billing details and order history. Payment card details go directly to our payment provider and never touch our servers. Lawful basis: performing our contract with you.
- When you browse: standard analytics data (pages visited, device type, rough location) via Google Analytics, only where you accept analytics cookies.
Who else touches your data
A short list of processors, each bound by their own UK GDPR commitments: our hosting provider (Hostinger), our payment processor (WooPayments, powered by Stripe), and Google (analytics, where consented). We never sell your data, and we never share it beyond what is needed to run the site and shop.
How long we keep things
Contact messages: up to two years, so we have context if you write again. Order records: six years, as UK tax law requires. Newsletter addresses: until you unsubscribe. Analytics: per Google’s standard retention, currently 14 months.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, delete it, or hand it over in a portable format, and you can object to or restrict our use of it. Use the contact form and we will sort it, usually well within the month the law allows. If you are ever unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
About children
This site is written for parents, not children, and we do not knowingly collect children’s data. It is also why you will never see our own children’s names or faces here – a promise we make as parents, not just as a business.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page and, for anything significant, mention it in the letters. Last updated: August 2026.
